Endodontics – or root canal treatment is the treatment of irreversible inflammation of the pulp. It involves removal of the diseased pulp from the chamber and root canal, cleaning, and filling it with suitable material. A properly cured tooth remains in the mouth for a long time and with no side effects.
In many cases biological treatment is necessary in order to withdraw the inflammation of periapical tissues. This eliminates the need to perform surgical procedures like resection, or eventually, tooth extraction.
In our clinic root canal treatment is carried out under a dental microscope, which enables precise analysis of the canal and is of enormous help in curing the most difficult cases, and makes detecting additional root canals or removing broken instruments much simpler.
Digital radiographs are performed during and after the endodontic process in order to control and verify the course of treatment.
